As long standing devotees of the brand, we at UP THERE are elated to announce another exclusive collaboration with Viberg on the Strathcona.
Custom-made upon our request, it's a low-cut version of the revered Hiker Boot—first released in the '70s as a mountaineering-inspired version of the Model 105 Logging Boot.
The uppers are constructed from a single piece of a snuff coloured Waxy Commander suede produced by British tannery Charles F. Stead & Co.—a name synonymous with the finest leathers since 1900. Using bovine hide, the suede shrinks up to 25% during the unique CFS technique. The hide is tanned without any pigment—the same way all C.F. Stead leathers are tanned—with natural waxes applied to give the suede a waterproof finish.
Viberg boots are made for a lifetime of wear, so a sole which can be repaired, removed and replaced is paramount to ensure that daily wear doesn't cut that experience short. A Viberg Extralight EVA sole unit provides EVA cushioning and increased grip thanks to the grooved outsole.
